How billing works
- Payments are handled by Paddle. Paddle is the merchant of record: they process your card, calculate and remit any sales tax, and handle billing support. Your card details never touch our servers.
- Contractor's first month is free, as a trial. The trial is the only free month; Contractor is $18.99 a month from then on.
- Contractor is billed monthly. There is no annual plan and no long contract. Estimator is the one exception: it is billed once every 6 months at $49.99.
- The Estimator plan is not a monthly plan. Six months are paid at a time, so the price you pay per period is $49.99 and the next payment is six months later unless you cancel.
- Cancel any time. Cancelling stops the next payment. Your Premium access runs to the end of the period you already paid for, and the free plan takes over after that.
- Cancelling does not delete anything. Your projects stay in your account and stay readable. Premium only controls how many of them you may link.
- Taxes are handled for you. Any tax due is calculated by Paddle at checkout from your location.
Refunds
If Premium is not right for you, ask for a refund within 14 days of a payment and we will put the money back. The full policy, including what is and is not covered, is on the Refund Policy page.
The free first month on Contractor is not a payment, so there is nothing to refund there: if you cancel during the trial you have paid nothing. The 14-day refund window starts at your first paid period.
What paying does not change
We would rather be blunt than sell you something you will regret:
- The app is the same app on every plan. All PM modules and the Build Cost Calculator are on Free. Paid plans add scale - cloud projects, AI depth, and team roles.
- Offline work is never limited. No plan caps how many projects you keep on your own device.
- Code sharing is never locked. Every tier, including Free, can generate and share editor and client codes.
- Your data stays yours either way. Cancelling or never paying does not affect projects already on your device. As always, keep your own backups.
Questions
- Do I need an account to use the app? No. Everything works on the device without signing in. Signing in only enables cloud backup, AI, and team features.
- What is the difference between Contractor and Company? Contractor adds unlimited cloud projects, the full AI assistant, and one named team member. Company adds unlimited named members and full role-based access, including a team audit trail.
- Can I switch plans later? Yes, at any time. Upgrading takes effect immediately; downgrading keeps your access to the end of the period you already paid for. See Refunds.
- Is code sharing affected by my plan? No. Editor and client codes work on every plan, including Free.
